Reagan Middle School Transitioning to High School
Endorsements through Xello Xello is engaging, fun-to-use software available to all GPISD students to help you create and plan your very own, unique roadmap for future success.
Matchmaker Interest survey Students completed the Matchmaker Interest survey through their US History class. Matchmaker is a career interest inventory tool. Matchmaker asks about your likes and dislikes and then suggests careers based on your interests to help you build self-knowledge. Xello contains a wealth of student-friendly content about careers. Students may explore based on their Career Cluster. Based on the Matchmaker results, students completed the Introduction to High School Endorsements worksheet.. The results identified the TWO career clusters that are recommended.

Identify the TWO career clusters that best match your interests and circle them in the chart below Based on Students Matchmaker results, they completed the Introduction to High School Endorsements WS. a. Identify your top 3 careers of interest, save them to your favorites in Xello, and write them in the appropriate box in the chart below. (Match the career with its career cluster.) They might have to choose between two or more endorsements. We asked for them to pick their favorite for now. Students may can change their endorsement if they their mind later. School of Choice School of Choice are schools you must apply to attend If you are an out of district or transfer student, you MUST re-apply to what ever high school (GPHS & SGPHS, included) you wish to attend Grand Prairie High School and South Grand Prairie High School are feeder schools, which are schools where you live in their school zones and are you automatically enrolled. School of Choice are: Dubiski Career High School Grand Prairie Collegiate Institute Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy Young Women s Leadership Academy Early College High School
Program of Choice Program of Choice is offered at all the high schools in GPISD Each high school has different Programs of Choice. Sequence of Event Students take the Matchmaker Interest Survey on Xello Based on the results of survey they choose their Career Cluster (Health Science, Hospitality & Tourism, Education, etc.) Students then pick their Endorsements (Public Service, STEM, Business & Industry, etc.) from the Career Cluster Attend the GPISD Experience on Saturday January 9th from 9:00am-1:00pm Select CTE Pathway (Nursing Academy, Auto Technology, Cosmetology, etc.) Apply for Program of Choice/School of Choice - ***do not forget, if you are a transfer or out of district student, you must re-apply for GPISD school and Program of Choice In January, middle school counselors will help students fill out their CORE classes of their Personal Graduation Plan for high school Students will meet with high school counselors in the spring (March 16-April 1) to complete PGP designed for their Pathway
