  1. National Reporting by GARR (Italy) on what was done on a national scale regarding EOSC matters Update on Italian Computing and Data Infrastructure (ICDI) PLAPLAN-E meeting, Paris, 19-20 April 2018N-E meeting, 19-20 April, Paris

  2. Italian Research Community versus EOSC (1/2) Independently of EOSC and its 'benefits' (whatever it means...), the Italian Research Community has always had the aim of coordinating the use and the development of the computing and storage resources available to Universities and to public Research organizations for their scientific purposes. [Same as it was done for Networking: GARR is active since 30 years and has been founder of RARE, RIPE, ISOC, TERENA, DANTE, Geant] Enzo Valente, enzo.valente@garr.it

  3. Italian Research Community versus EOSC (2/2) A federation (not a legal entity) of Universities, Res.Org. RI, Projects, named Italian Computing and Data Infrastructure (ICDI) has been informally set up a couple of years ago with the aim of: -coordinating the request of funds to the funding bodies -sharing principles in opening data (but "which" data it's up to the single organization/project) -developing/sharing services common to all compliance with FAIR -security, portability, interoperability -data preservation (medium/long term) -disaster recovering -business model -representing national orgs/projects versus EC and other bodies (including EOSC, if needed) -agree on common policies versus commercial providers Enzo Valente, enzo.valente@garr.it
