  6. The Creative Curriculum The Creative Curriculum uses Investigations or Studies surrounding topics that are of interest to children ages 3-5 years old. These Investigations are explored in child-directed centers and small-group settings, mixed together in a fun and creative manner.   7. Your Pre-K student will be formally assessed 3 times annually by the Florida VPK Assessment administered by your child s teacher. You will receive a lengthy Progress Report explaining the next steps at school for your student. Grading/ TSGold Data Graphs and color-coded charts show your child s current level alongside his or her peers.

  8. CHARACTER COUNTS! is an educational framework for teaching universal values and a national coalition of organizations that support each other. The result is a culture change in your school, business or organization. CHARACTER COUNTS! improves the lives of the adults who teach it, the communities that embrace it and the students who make better choices as a result of it CHARACTER COUNTS! All of the time.   9. Pre-K follows the Conscious Discipline program to address the Social Emotional needs we see. This is a proactive program which focuses on the positive through calmness & breathing techniques. SJCSD Pre-K also relies on Sanford Harmony small-group sessions which assist children in understanding their big emotions. Behavior & Communication Our Pre-K students help to establish the rules in each of our classrooms, and we review them every day. Communication occurs through our daily behavior folders and the Ready Rosie App. Parents are welcome to call or email as well

  10. Typical paper packets of homework are not developmentally appropriate for our 3- & 4-year-old students, as deemed by the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). Pre-K Teachers are able to send family-oriented activities to your email weekly through the Ready Rosie App. Homework:
