  1. Wellness Teaching Assistant: Kareem Lubin Instructor: Thomas Spanbauer Section: 9:10-10am Wednesday's

  2. Topic: Health and Wellness +I gave the students tips on different ways to achieve wellness, and things that they should be doing to take care of themselves daily.

  3. Purpose of this lesson +Was to stress the importance of wellness and show the students that there is multiple ways you can achieve it. Also show the students a different side of me and really get out of my comfort zone. +As new college students sometimes, we forget to take care of ourselves and worry about other things.

  4. Lesson Preperation + I brought a yoga mat because I demonstrated some yoga moves + I had a list of exercises to do together as a class because everyone was tired at 9 in the morning, so I was able to get them moving and more involved.   5. Why is this important to know? +Because as first year college students some people do not know the importance of taking care of yourself. We get caught up with the college lifestyle of hanging with friends, partying, doing homework, and simply forget how to take care of yourself. You also do not have your parents around anymore to rely on you which some people depend on. +If you cannot take care of yourself then how can you take care of other aspects of your life if you are not good?

  6. Methods +One of my methods was I had questions through the presentation I would ask them open ended questions so they could be involved. Questions such as +What do you think wellness means? +How do your handle your stress? +What do you like to do for self-care? +Do you have a Routine?

  7. Learning objectives +Ultimately, I wanted to stress the improtance of being able to take care of yourself daily because it does play a big role in how you handle your life. +I also wanted to show them that there are many ways to tackle self-care and that there isn't only one way to do that and that you must find what works best for you because everyone is different

  8. Assessment/ Feedback +One Major thing I wish I did was to do th movement, yoga, and meditation before I got into my lecture. +The kids were tired and were not really answering my questions but once I did the movement and the meditation and got there blood flowing, I felt that they were a lot more engaged

  9. Reflection +For the kids not being super involved I felt that I handled it super well and was able to give the students usefult information they can use in their everyday lives. +Next time I must get the students involved from the beginning and the lecture can go a lot smoother +I was able to have a lot of fun with it and just be myslef and show the students a different side of me which I was happy about and I was definetlty able to some happiness out of the students which made me happy
