The bimonthly volunteer webinar held in May 2018 featured various updates including ambassador updates, advocacy updates, fundraising updates, and a Q&A session with Jenni Grover on thriving with pain. Participants were encouraged to engage on World Autoimmune Arthritis Day and promote Pain Awareness Month initiatives. Additionally, housekeeping details were provided for the smooth conduct of the webinar and feedback was encouraged through a survey.

World Autoimmune Arthritis Day #WAAD2018 REV Up your engines and fuel our race to raise awareness on May 19th beginning at 6am EST until May 21st at 5am EST We need your help to drive over 47,000 miles in 47 hours! We will be sharing posts across our social media accounts that you can use during this time or you can write your own with these hashtags as well!

  6. PAM Updates Proclamations: Most offices have specific requirements/deadlines. Start requesting yours now! Light up the Landmarks: Join our team of ambassadors who are focusing on this part of PAM! We need your help reaching out but are here to support you through this specialized team of volunteers. Federal Advocacy Pain Management Best Practices Interagency Task Force 28 Appointeesannounced; Cindy was appointed Charge: Determine gaps, inconsistencies in best practices among federal agencies Recommend fixes Provide public opportunity to comment Develop a strategy for disseminating info about updated best practices How Different from IPRCC? IPRCC is focused on pain research Charge: Further our fundamental understanding of pain Improve treatment strategies & options through research This Task Force is focused on current pain management best practices

Federal Advocacy First Public Meeting May 30 & 31st in Washington DC Anyone can attend Address: HHS, 200 Independence Ave, Great Hall There will be an opportunity to speak as well as submit written comments Strongly Urge People with Pain to Attend and Submit Oral or Written Comments Recommendations coming out of this Task Force could very significantly affect pain care Topics to comment on: CDC Guidelines issues with them good & bad, how they have affected you FDA Actions ie. more heavily weighing risks vs benefits of opioids in future drug approvals CMS decisions on what they will cover for pain treatment What do you believe are best pain management practices ?

  16. Fundraising First Penny for Pain is taking place in a high school for spirit week in CT this week Real Hope Real Heroes Gala is June 2nd Working with a few MLB teams to host fundraisers at games

Migraine 2nd edition will be ready in June; Osteoarthritis and Chronic Low Back Pain edition will be in late-June. What's in the pipeline? Pediatric 2nd edition.
