Try to quantify the time you will need for the story
Test the documents YES Several times
Try to answer the following questions What kind of information is there? What doubts you have about certain points of that data? Make sure you get answers from your questions Talk to experts. Don't take anything for granted.
Make a plan Organize the project in different stages (less is more).
Let the documents rest every once in a while
When you work a lot during the day with the same documents, at one point you won't be able to detect mistakes
Sometimes you will need to do manual work and its not really that bad.. (Technology is not everything)
You get to know the documents and you gain special skills that will make the difference in your newsroom
