  2. Definition Conjunction is a joining word which joins together two or more words/ sentences into one sentence. Example: Slow andsteady He is a good cricketer, buthe is not selected for the final match Poor child died beforehe reached hospital

Types of Conjunction Coordinating Conjunction Used to connect word, clauses and phrases of equal rank or importance (and, but, or, nor, for, yet, so) 1) And Combine two words/ sentences/ ideas But Connect contrast ideas Or Express a choice between two things Nor Combine two negated words/ sentences For Conjunction of purpose or reason Yet Express something that has not happened but you expect it to happen So - Conjunction of result or consequence

Types of Conjunction Contd Co-relative Conjunction Used in pairs to connect two words/ sentences/ phrases (Either Or, Neither Nor, Both And, Whether Or, Not Only .But Also) 2) Either..Or Show choices between two things Neither Nor Refuse both of the choices Both...And Combine two ideas Weather Or Express doubt or choice between two things Not Only But Also Inclusion of more than one thing
