INTRODUCTION In the English language, the eight parts of speech serve as the ultimate foundation of grammar. Generally, the part of speech shows how the word functions in meaning as well as grammatically within the sentence. .
DEFINITION NOUN PRONOUN PRONOUN VERB VERB A noun is the name of a person, place, thing, or idea. A pronoun is a word used in place of a noun. A verb expresses action or being.
DEFINITION ADJECTIVE ADJECTIVE ADVERB ADVERB PREPOSITION PREPOSITION An adjective modifies or describes a noun or pronoun. An adverb modifies or describes a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. . A preposition is a word placed before a noun or pronoun to form a phrase modifying another word in the sentence
DEFINITION CONJUNCTION CONJUNCTION INTERJECTION INTERJECTION A conjunction joins words, phrases, or clauses. An interjection is a word used to express emotion

ADVERB Definition: Can be added to a verb to modify its meaning Tells you when, where, how, in what manner or to what extent an action is performed Many end in ly , but some do not Examples:cheerfully briskly wickedly Delicately fast never now
