Implementation of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in Albania: PELMOB Project
The PELMOB project funded by the European Union aims to promote and popularize electric mobility in Albania by installing charging stations for electric vehicles in key tourist areas and border points across the country. The project involves a pilot audit project, implementation of works, and the establishment of a network of charging stations to support the government's goal of reducing fossil fuel consumption and environmental pollution. The Albanian government plans to have 200 to 300 charging stations by 2025.

At least this is how a document of the Energy Efficiency Agency specifies, which launched a tender related to this aspect this Monday. Program: ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE-STRAND-2 Project number: 101082860 AEE-AGENCY OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY "AEE has completed a study for the transport sector, for the establishment of the network of electric car chargers, and based on this study, the implementation process and the beginning of the establishment of the network of electric car chargers will be continued. Also, during 2021 and on, AEE has installed 4 AC 22kW and 1 DC 350 kW car chargers in the city of Tirana, and during 2022, it is in the process of installing a DC 50 kW charger in the city of Shkodra. Based on the National Action Plan for Energy and Climate in relation to the transport sector, our country has an obligation to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels as well as the environmental pollution that comes from it. For this purpose, the objective of the Albanian government is to install 200 to 300 charging stations by 2025 throughout the country.
