Teaching Notes Teaching Notes Today your child is learning to Describe a character You can help by Talking to your child about the word describe and what it means. Helping them to generate a range of words to describe Beegu linked to her appearance and personality. Supporting your child to then use these words to write their own descriptive sentences.
What does describe mean? To tell someone about the appearance, sound, smell or events of something or someone. To say what someone or something is like.
Describing a character There are two important things to think about Personality Appearance This is often linked to what they do and how they behave. This tells us what they are like a person. What they look like

How will I check my childs progress today? Was your child able to write a range of sentences to describe Beegu? Here are some examples below Beegu has yellow skin. She is small and has long ears. Her nose is pointy and her hands look like a cat s paw. Beegu is kind. She is brave and very determined. Beegu is friendly because she plays with the children.
