The Bureau of Public Procurement in Jalingo, Taraba State aims to harmonize government policies, ensure probity and transparency, and promote fair and competitive practices in procurement. Established under the Taraba State public procurement law, the bureau monitors procurement activities, formulates policies, and conducts audits to uphold compliance. In 2024, various workshops and audits are planned to enhance procurement practices and certify state government procurements. The bureau plays a crucial role in ensuring professionalism and cost-effectiveness in public sector procurement.

WELCOME TO BUREAU OF PUBLIC PROCUREMENT JALINGO TARABA STATE
VISION Harmonization of existing Government policies and practices on public procurement and ensuring probity, accountability and transparency in procurement process; Ensuring the application of fair, competitive, transparent, value for money, standard and practice for the procurement, disposal of public assets and services The attainment of transparency, competitiveness, cost effectiveness and professionalism in the public sector procurement system
MISSION Formulate the general policies and guidelines relating to public sector procurement for the approval of the council. Monitor the price of tendered terms and keep a national database of standard prices Supervise the implementation of established procurement policies Subject to the thresholds as may be set by the council certify state government procurement prior to the award of contract
ESTABLISHMENT OF THE BUREAU The bureau of public procurement is an agency establish under Taraba State public procurement law 2012 by the Taraba State House of Assembly to enforce the monetary and prior review threshold set by the State for application of the provision of the law, subject to this law issue certificate of no objection for contract award within the prior review threshold for all procurements within the purview of this law. The bureau was also establish to inspect or review any procurement transaction to ensure compliance and to determine whether any procurement entity has violated any provision of the law in pursuant of the regulations. The bureau main a list of firm and persons that have been debarred, from participating in public procurement activities and public them in the public procurement journal.
