TERESA’S TIPS

Tracking Zip Books
Use Excel spreadsheet to keep track of all orders, patrons, and activities from time of order
until item is returned to us
No longer keep track of unfulfilled requests
Build program parameters into Zip Books request form
https://www.co.siskiyou.ca.us/library/webform/zip-books
Patrons must confirm ”Yes” that item is more than 90 days old, not currently available
through library, and that they have no other Zip Books requests at the time
Helps to keep non-parameter submissions to a minimum
Notifying patrons about late Zip Books
Patrons can enjoy their Zip requests for 3 months
Will send bulk reminders to patrons via email and by placing messages in their library card
accounts
Has helped increase the number of overdue items returned

OTHER COMMON PROBLEMS

Lost deliveries
Lost returns
Patron issues
