What is SAIPE Data?

According to the most recent SAIPE Data, there are 8,410,463 students aged 5-17
experiencing poverty.  This is a national poverty percentage of 15.48%.
 
Oregon has 76,942 students aged 5-17 experiencing poverty, representing 0.91% of
the nation’s students in this category.

2023-24 Poverty Rate: 12.57% (.92)

Once Congress passes a budget, the U.S. Department of Education needs 2-3 weeks to calculate each state’s
allocations.

he Federal Systems/Multilingual Migrant Education Teams need 1-2 weeks after that to calculate
district allocations. The following is a proposed timeline for allocations
