  5. ACTIVATION / ACCESS TO THE TEAM There is a general list of incident types requiring the immediate supervisors or commanders to contact the peer support team with the details. Because of the nature of the emergency services, this list is not exhaustive, and events outside the established list are left to the supervisors who know the personnel and their needs.

  6. SERVICES OFFERED Critical Incident Debriefings When the Peer Support Team leadership and/or our clinical director determine that a formal debriefing is warranted, the affected officers are mandated to attend. Within 72-96 hours after a critical incident, a formal group debriefing is convened. The mandate is a way to ensure that involved officers receive attention and support and to overcome some of the officers resistance and stigma concerns.
