  1. Teen films

  2. The time it was released. The film Grease was released in the year 1978. It was a musical, romantic comedy. It was easily the best teen film out at that time. After the first grease there were remakes but there were not as good as the original.

  3. Characters The main characters in Grease are : Danny, Sandy, Kenickie, Rizzo, Doody, Sonny, Putzie, Frenchy , Jan, Marty.

  4. Based The film was based in high school with teenagers. In this film there is a lot of Rebellion from the teenagers towards the teachers.

  5. The plot The main plot of the film is that all the guys and girls hook up. Another main part of the film is that the T-Birds (the guys) make a wicked car and win the race. But the main theme is love, rebellion and comedy in the film.

  6. Narrative structures. The different types of Narrative structures are Linear structure, Open structure, Closed structure and Circular structure. The structure that is mostly used in Grease is Linear structure. A Linear structure is a film that is split up into three structures, Begging, Middle and end. At the begging it introduces all of the characters, in the Middle is where events start to happen and finally the end is where is the closure of the story.

  7. Codes and conventions. Codes and conventions are what tell the audience what type of genre the film is. For example in the film Grease the Code and convention is that it is set in a high school. This tells the audience that it is a teen film. Another example for Grease is that the characters start to sing a song a lot, this tells the audience that it is a musical film also.

  8. Modes of address A specific mode of telling the story in the film Grease is the musical side of it. A lot of the story is told by singing. This is the mode of address, singing.

  9. Messages, values and morals. Messages, values and morals means, is there a lesson learnt at the end of the film by the characters or audience. For example in the film Grease they all learn to get along with each other.
