  1. IMPROVING SUCCESS RATES For Verification Methods

  2. Real Phone Numbers Using phone numbers associated with and having history with an entity, whether it be a person or corporation will improve the success rate of GMB/GBP verification post trigger. Listings will usually come out of pending quickly and be less prone to reverification and suspension going forward. Obvious disadvantages are the ability to obtain trusted phone numbers Numbers can be swapped to a new primary number post verification, while the trusted number can be then used as a secondary number. It is advised to leaved a period of 14 days or more post verification before changing the primary number

  3. Authority Domain Using an existing domain with a degree of authority increases the rate of verification success and longevity As mentioned earlier in our discussions this authority can be implied geo authority which there are no third-party tools available to measure From experience we can say that this geo authority is a very strong signal and allows for easier and higher rates of verification and longevity especially when the prior business had multiple citations indexed in Google. When using a local expired domain, we have had no problem using a business name which differs to the domain name or the original seed address Traditional domain authority can be seasoned into a new domain over time to give similar results. Sub-Domains can also work for verification

  4. Google Account Authority-Continued Youtube activity- Daily YT activity is a good way to increase the authority of your Google account. Views, likes and watch time are all good signals Google Drive activity- Using your Google drive is a good way to show you are a genuine user Email activity-Email activity should be for example, form-fills and subscriptions and then replying to the response. Emails to and from contacts etc. Do not be tempted to use spam email campaigns and services to increase activity!! Do not engage in maps activity such as editing existing listings, suggesting missing places or adding photos to existing places. These generally increase rather than decrease spam scores on new accounts. Reviews can be done but sparingly. Typically reviews won t stick with new accounts so generally not much point to doing them. They are, however, somewhat neutral from an authority perspective.

  5. Map Embeds A map embed of the address location of the proposed GMB/GBP has been shown to improve the success rate of verifications and reduce suspensions and reverification requests Obviously, pre-Verification you cannot add a map embed of the business unless of course the business exists on maps as a suggested place prior to claiming and verifying. In this case a map embed of the address, or the geo location will suffice This map should be added close to the top of the page It can be added in a hidden div!

  6. Local Schema Local schema has been shown to improve verification rates and reduce post verification suspensions and reverification requests The local schema must include the full name, address and phone number of the proposed business listing and the geo coordinates of the address Addresses that have been verified in Melissa data perform better than those unverified The schema should be placed close to the top of the page for best results

  7. Google Account Authority The authority of the Google account being used to verify the listing is probably the most important trust element New Google accounts should be phone verified in the country where the listing is to be located New Google accounts should be completed as fully as possible and must include an image of the account holder. The new Google account must be seasoned for a period in order to allow for GMB/GBP verification The seasoning period will vary based on the number of listings to be verified and the category they are in We recommend a minimum of 4-6 weeks Seasoning should include: Browser activity-Browser activity should be on the same browser you intend to verify with. Daily searching, clicking, scrolling and dwell time etc

  8. Adding NAP to the page It is vital that you proposed business address is on the page Typically, this is added to the footer of the site unless it is a multi location site Testing has showed that adding the NAP close to the top of the code below the H1 is a strong signal and increases post trigger verification success and longevity This nap can be removed at a later date if it is undesirable from a design standpoint Alternatively, this address can be added under the page in a hidden div if desired
