  1. What words could you use to describe this picture???

  2. Manny the Woolly Mammoth Task: 1) Read the description of Manny. 2) The adjectives (describing words) are in bold. 3) For each adjective make a list of alternatives that could be used instead. 4) Re-write the passage using a different adjective for each word in bold. Manny is a big Woolly Mammoth with large, curved tusks and soft, woolly furthat is orange in colour. He is very strong and brave and he dislikesseeing other animals being hurt.

Sid the Sloth Task: 1) Read the description of Sid. 2) The adjectives (describing words) are in bold. 3) For each adjective make a list of alternatives that could be used instead. 4) Re-write the passage using a different adjective for each word in bold. Sid is a small sloth with long,pointy claws and shaggy, furry hairthat is yellow in colour. He is very clumsy and this can get him into trouble.

  4. Diego the Sabre Tooth Tiger Task: 1) Write your own description of Diego. 2) Describe his teeth, fur and personality. 3) For each characteristic that you have to describe make a list of different adjectives you could use. 4) Write your own passage using the words from you lists. 5) When you have finished edit your work to make sure your sentences make sense.
