A leader is someone who influences and guides others toward the accomplishment of a goal. Leadership is a process of social influence, which maximises the efforts of others, towards the achievement of a goal. To the leader, it s all that and more because everyone you lead is depending on you.
4. Communication Developing excellent communication skills is absolutely essential to effective leadership. The leader must be able to transmit a sense of urgency and enthusiasm to others. 5. Competence Competence goes beyond words. It s the leader s ability to say it, plan it, and do it in such a way that others know that you know how and know that they want to follow you. John C. Maxwell
