  7. MyRefund Card The My Refund Card option will not be an option on any electronic returns for the 2015 tax year.

  8. ERO Application Process Process Remains the Same Electronic Return Originators or ERO s accepted by the IRS will automatically be accepted into the state e-file program. Only software developers are required to test with LA returns (ATS- Acceptance Testing System) A list of approved software vendors has been provided on the LDR Website on the Tax Professional page. LDR does not require BOND Insurance.

  9. Paper Documents to be retained by ERO The Forms LA8453 and corresponding W-2forms, 1099s and all supporting documentation must be retained for at least 3 years. (Taxpayer s form LA8453OL) If using PIN (Personal Identification Number) retain Federal E-file signature Authorization Document, IRS Form 8879 The LA8453 will be used as an information document when IRS Form 8879 is used. The LA8453 must be signed and retained when a state only return is transmitted.

  10. Paper Documents to be retained by ERO E-Signature Documents are accepted for vendors who support this option.

  11. Transmitting Louisiana Electronic Returns When transmitting both returns together, it is important to note that if either return rejects, both returns will reject. If you receive an acceptance from LA and a rejection from IRS, it may be better to send both again if your software allows.

  12. Acknowledgements After Louisiana retrieves the returns from the IRS an electronic acknowledgement is generated for each return and sent to IRS to provide to transmitters Transmitters should verify that the software includes the state acknowledgement retrieval from IRS.   13. Anti-Fraud Measures Software Vendors will be putting additional anti-fraud fields into the submission. It should not have any effect on the what you see as an user. This change should effect all vendors and all product types.

  24. Security Reminders Never post your Passwords Don t let anyone use your login information Change compromised passwords immediately. Developing a passphrase is good alternative to a password.   25. Suspicious Emails Do not open or forward any e-mails that may look suspicious. Delete the e-mail immediately. Social media e-mails are the easiest type for attacker to copy. Do not open social media e-mails through you work e-mail system. Some e-mails from attackers are bold. Don t supply information simply because it was asked.

  26. LDR Correspondence Do not send a taxpayer s SSN ,in e-mail or fax, to the Department of Revenue. Only send the last 4 digits and taxpayer s name in correspondence sent to the Department.

  27. Software Updates Please download all software updates sent by your software vendor. These updates can includes changes to the return or calculations that may impact your return.
