  2. Do we realize our great need for a Savior?

  3. Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.

  4. We must first know that God is a holy God. Be holy because I am holy. I Peter 1:16 Be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect. Matthew 5:48

  5. The Ten Commandments 1. You shall have no other gods before Me. 2. You shall not make idols. 3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain. 4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 5. Honor your father and your mother. 6. You shall not murder. 7. You shall not commit adultery. 8. You shall not steal. 9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 10. You shall not covet.

  6. Why do we need a Savior? All are sinners Romans 3:23 As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one; There is no one who does good, not even one. Romans 3:10, 12 The wages of sin is death Romans 6:23

  7. Why the 10 commandments? No one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin. Romans 3:20

  8. Why the 10 commandments? If a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. Galatians 3:21

  9. Why the 10 commandments? If righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing. Galatians 2:21

  10. Why the 10 commandments? The law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Galatians 3:24

  11. How does the law lead us to Christ? We quickly see that we cannot keep it God is holy. We quickly see that we have a great need to be made right with God in a different way than through the law. We need a Savior

  12. God provided a Savior for us. But now a righteousness from God, apart from the law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Romans 3:21-22

  13. God provided a Savior for us. We know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified. Galatians 2:16

  14. God provided a Savior for us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

  15. Our Response: By Grace Through Faith Not Works. By grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8

  16. Our Response: By Grace Through Faith Not Works. Repent and Believe the Good News Mark 1:16 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. Acts 3:19

  17. Our Response: By Grace Through Faith Not Works. But as many as received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become the children of God. John 1:12
