  2. Background National Oral Health Programme (NOHP) is an initiative of the 12th Plan period launched in the year 2014-15 to strengthen the public health facilities of the country for an accessible, affordable & quality oral health care delivery.

  3. Objectives 1. Improve the determinants of oral health e.g. healthy diet, oral hygiene improvement etc. 2. Reduce morbidity from oral diseases by strengthening oral health services at district hospital and below 3. Integrate oral health promotion and preventive services with general health care system 4. Promote Public Private Partnerships (PPP)

  4. Components of NOHP 1. National Health Mission (NHM) component support to States to set up Dental Care Units at District Hospitals or below. Support provided for: Human Resources [Dental Surgeon, Dental Hygienist, Dental Assistant] Equipment including Dental Chair, autoclave etc. up to Rs. 7 Lakhs per center Consumables for dental procedures up to Rs. 5 Lakhs per year 2. Tertiary component central level activities such as: Design IEC/BCC materials like Posters, TV, Radio Spots Develop oral health training materials Conduct workshops for capacity building District Hospital, Sarguja (Chhattisgarh)

  7. NOHP Checklist for Primary Health Centre (PHC) Is there any Dental facility available at PHC If Dental facility is available what are the common dental services being provided? If Dental facility is not available who will take care for the Dental Emergency

  8. NOHP Checklist for Community Health Care (CHC) Is there any Dental facility available at CHC If Dental facility is available, No. of patients in Dental OPD last month If Dental facility is available, what are the common dental services being provided? If Dental facility is available, Is the autoclave being used for sterilisation If Dental facility is not available who will take care for the Dental Emergency
