  23. Writing: Successful essays are focused, organized, and precise, with an appropriate style and tone that varies sentence structure and follows the conventions of standard written English.

  24. Every SAT Essay will be read by two scorers. Each scorer will award 1 to 4 points each in reading, analysis, and writing. The scores will be combined for a total of 2 to 8 points in each of the three categories.
