Session Objectives Define wellness Assess our individual and team needs using the PROQOL Begin to identify times when you are stressed using the WTF tool
Have you ever... Noticed an increase in sick leave and short term disability? Tried to implement a new policy and experienced major pushback? Announced good news and been met with suspicion and cynicism? Noticed a lack of employee engagement in staff surveys or committees? If you answered yes to any of these then this PD is for YOU!
What do we mean by wellness? Before we look at the stress issues, what do we mean when we talk about wellness? Activity - 5 minutes Count off by 4 s In your group, create what a well person is to you. What are the characteristics of a well person? Use words, symbols, phrases, etc. Groups will share out -choose a reporter
Unique Stressors in Trauma- Exposed Work What are stressors that impact wellness? The work is stressful The extent of emotional labor Doing the work challenges the individual s previous belief systems The wider population doesn t share knowledge The work is not always valued by society
