Mrs. Banks
on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Mrs Liming
on Thursdays and Fridays.

The work is varied to cater for the different abilities of the children and
the children’s interests.

The children are ability grouped for English (SFA – Success for All) and
work will be differentiated for all other subjects.
We have three teaching assistants working in the class -
Mrs Turner
(every morning), Mrs Southey ( during English and one afternoon)
and
Mrs Payne (Thursday afternoons).

On Tuesday afternoons the class are taught P.E. by Mrs Paskell and Ms
Lewis will teach the children on a Thursday afternoon.

nights in a week.
10 stamps = a free book.

Phonics / Spelling:

Maths homework is given out on a
Friday.

Homework is always given out in paper copy and is also attached on to
our google classroom page.

days.
Ditton Lodge purple T-shirt
Plain dark shorts.
Outdoor Kit: jogging bottoms or leggings (dark coloured)
A school jumper or Ditton Lodge hoodie.
Trainers or plimsolls.
Earrings should not be worn on P.E. days for safety reasons.

Please ensure that your child comes to school
every day in the correct school uniform and
that school shoes,
not trainers
, are worn.
All school uniform should be named.
Please ensure long hair is tied up.

If your child is going home with another
adult, please speak to the class teacher or
inform the office via email in the morning.
If you have to make alternative
arrangements at the end of the school day
due to unforeseen circumstances, please
inform the school office.
The end of the school day for Year 1 is
2.50pm. Please be prompt in collecting your
child.

Early Work is an important start to the day
so please make sure your
child arrives promptly in school each morning.

It is really helpful if your child can bring a water bottle to school every
day (in addition to a packed-lunch drink as children are not allowed back
into the classrooms). This needs to be water rather than squash.

Please no jewellery, watches, sweatbands or charity bands.

A very busy curriculum means that ‘Show and Tell’ will be on a rotation
during class assembly on a Thursday afternoon. During the Autumn Term
the theme will be our favourite books.

It is really helpful if your child can have a small packet of tissues in their
book bags.

Please check Google Classroom regularly. We are regularly updating
photographs and information to share with you.

In June, all Year 1 children across the UK
take part in the Phonics Screening Check.
The children read 40 words – 20 are real
words and 20 are nonsense words. These
words are based on the phase 5 letters and
sounds curriculum that we deliver in Year 1.
Throughout the year we continually prepare
the children for this through our daily
phonics lesson.

Thank you for your continued support.
Together we look forward to working with
you and your child.
