Welcome to Pod 3: Supporting Growth and Partnership
In Pod 3, we aim to help children grow in independence, socially and academically, within a supportive environment. Establishing a partnership with parents is key, encouraging open communication for the benefit of each child. The school fosters connections with parent-teacher liaisons and organizes regular conferences. Effective communication channels include email, in-person meetings, and school apps. Emphasizing parental involvement in homework support, the school provides guidance on completion and expectations. The team at Pod 3, led by dedicated teachers, strives to create an enriching and collaborative learning experience for all students.

Homework Children need the support of their parents to ensure that homework is completed satisfactorily e.g. time is made, there s space, stationery is available etc Unlike in the junior school, readers will not be sent home on a daily basis. Maths homework is Mathletics. This is set by your child s maths teacher.
Literacy Support in Pod 3 Jenny Brown and Helen Bullock provide Literacy Support for students in Pod 3. A letter has gone home for those students who would benefit from extra support in Literacy.
Maths To cater for the range of abilities we cross group for Maths. This year we are trialling having one day a week (Friday) where children stay in their home class to participate in problem solving tasks. Don t hesitate to contact your child s Maths teacher if you need to. www.nzmaths.co.nz is an excellent website to gain further clarity about learning Maths.
Health and P.E. Swimming is the PE focus for Term 1 and we have had swimming instructors in the pool for the past two weeks. A note is required if they are unable to take part (please don t make excuses for them) A house coloured sports shirt and sports shorts are required and can be purchased online Named P.E. gear should be kept in a bag inside their school bags There are some team sports available for Pod 3 students
