Please work through these stages To give us important but NOT urgent information Include child s name, staff member s name and message. We won t normally reply to this. Call 023 80862981 to ask for a message to go to a member of staff Call 023 80862981 and press option 1 to report illness Write a note in their logbook; your child will need to show this to the teacher Email admin@hounsdown.hants.sch.uk Ask a question, get information or advice from a teacher, tutor or support staff Call 023 80862981 to ask for a message to go to a member of staff Email admin@hounsdown.hants.sch.uk These are always the school contact details to use We will acknowledge this and tell you who this has passed to within 48 hours (2 school days). You should expect a reply or further contact within 5 school days. If you don t get a timely reply, or have a further question Call or email (admin) for a message to go to the Subject Leader (about one subject only), Year Leader (more than one subject area or pastoral concerns), or SENCO (for SEN queries) These will be acknowledged within 48 hours (2 school days) and replied to in 5 school days If you have a serious complaint or not had your issue resolved If you don t get a timely reply, or have a further question please ask for escalation to Senior Staff (SLT) using admin@hounsdown.hants.sch.uk. This will be acknowledged within 48 hours (2 school days) and replied to in 5 school days You may wish to come in to school and ask to speak to someone directly; a duty member of staff or SLT will be able to hear your concerns. If you are worried about the immediate safety or well-being of a student, contact us or come in to school and tell us you have, a serious safeguarding/safety issue . Someone will follow this up urgently. If Senior Staff are unable to resolve your concern please write to Mr Veal, Associate Headteacher via admin e-mail or in writing. If Mr Veal is unable to resolve your concern he will direct you to Mrs Turvey, Executive Headteacher, and after this you will be directed to the Chair of Governors, see our complaints policy on the website. WE HOPE YOUR CONCERNS WILL BE DEALT WITH BY WORKING THROUGH THESE STAGES WITH US, BUT IF NOT WE ALWAYS CO-OPERATE WITH THE ESFA and DfE TO RESOLVE COMPLAINTS MADE TO THEM. Students Safety & Wellbeing Buildings open (Main Hall supervised from 8.15am) No pick up or drop off of students on site at the start and end of the day. No Parking: School Bus Lanes, Kirk Gardens, Moonscross Avenue, The Retreat Limited parking Jacobs Gutter Lane and Valley Road.

The school day starts at 8.35am! Tutor time and assembly (Friday) HOUSE POINTS!! KS3 (Years 7 & 8) Broad, balanced and differentiated Two year KS3 in core subjects Year 7 Transition Curriculum 1:1 or small group work in English & Maths (targeted students) Reading programme Y7 KS4 (Year 9, 10 & 11)
KS3 Curriculum Subjects taught by different teachers. Setting Broad Banding Mixed ability All are used to provide a healthy variety of classes, support and challenge.
KS3 Curriculum Groups based on English attainment: English, Humanities, IT Groups based on Maths attainment: Maths, Science Groups based on Languages Setting reviewed regularly over time. Based on data on entry and CATS (to start with)
