  6. BDTY - views My SENCo said she would arrange for me to go to an assertiveness class but then didn t tell me when it was on and I missed it Support at school is good when I am really learning, when he explains what to do and when I know what to do SENCos and SEN staff help me by organising and attending activities such as trips with me Great leisure places to go in Barnet are Futureversity Activities, Allianz Park, Power League, Canada Villa, Arts Depot, Alexandra Palace I don t need support all the time, just when I feel things are unpredictable and I feel overwhelmed I want to learn more independence skills to visit family and friends Shouting is hard for me as loud noises upset me I like catch up lessons I need preparation for next steps- what happens in the 6th Form I don t care about funding I just need help I want my writing and spelling to get better I want to learn to drive

  7. Things that young people would like parents to know Parents should not say that you can t do things I wanted to come to the group to get my point across and to help others that cannot get their point across Make sure the school knows as much as they can about you Parents should learn to let go and then you can see what young people can do for themselves or with the help of others Parents need to be strong, sometimes parents are not prepared and they need to find out lots of stuff
