Present continuous Present continuous * We use present continuous to talk about activities happening at the moment of speaking. I m leaving for work I m doing the dishes right now We also use it to talk about future plans Constanza is going to a new school next fall
Present continuous To use the present continuous we must add ing to the main verb of the sentence, like this: Bobby is sleeping on the floor verb: sleep + ing = sleeping Present continuous Mom is making soup verb: make + ing = making
The rules But, to add the ing to the main verb, we have to be careful: The rules * 1. If the verb has one syllable and ends in consonant + vowel + consonant, you must double the and add the and add the ing. ing. double the last last consonant consonant Swim Swimming Run Running 2.
