  3. THE MYSTERY Why did a newspaper mean Annie was left alone?

  5. You will have lots of information you will need to sift through to solve the mystery. Consider what types of ways we can categorize our information. HINTS Work out who Annie was and what she was like?

  6. The Mystery Using the details in the chart can you answer the BIG QUESTION for todays lesson; Why did a newspaper mean Annie was left alone?

  7. The Answer Annie was a villager, and people began to suspect she was a witch. She had a familiar and claimed she could make fruit fall from the trees. However, around this time Newton discovered the theory of gravity. As the printing press was also developing in the 17thCentury, news got around about the theory of gravity. Scientific developments could explain strange goings on and so people no longer believed in witch craft.
