  2. How does Matt. 5:20 Is there a progression from the first beatitude to the second to the third? Poor in spirit realize their helpless spiritual condition Those who mourn, recognize their sin and are comforted Both of these characteristics are ongoing in a believer s life because we realize it is the Spirit of God indwelling us that allows us to be the blessed and enables us to exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees. Matt. 5:20 sum up chapters 5-7?

  3. Praus: an inwrought grace of the soul, and the expressions of it are primarily toward God. It is that attitude of spirit we accept God s dealing with us as GOOD and do not dispute or resist. A condition of mind and heart which demonstrates gentleness NOT in weakness, but in power. It is a balance born in strength of character. Zod. The opposite of being out of control.
