  1. Washing Feet 1 Peter 5:1-8

  2. Therefore, as a fellow elder and witness to the sufferings of the Messiah and also a participant in the glory about to be revealed, I exhort the elders among you: Shepherd God s flock among you, not overseeing out of compulsion but freely, according to God s will; not for the money but eagerly; 1 Peter 5:1 2

  3. not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. 1 Peter 5:3 4

  4. In the same way, you younger men, be subject to the elders. And all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:5

  5. Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your care on Him, because He cares about you. 1 Peter 5:6 7

  6. He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. John 10:12 13

  7. Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account, so that they can do this with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. Hebrews 13:17

  8. When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. John 13:12 13

  9. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. John 13:14 15

  10. Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. John 13:16 17

  11. Are we willing to clothe ourselves with the same humility that Jesus did?

  12. We throw away the favor of God when we refuse to humble ourselves before one another.

  13. A leader washes feet.

  14. Be the Jesus that the world needs, not the devil that the world believes.

  15. How much am I willing to trade Jesus for?

  16. Why are you fearful? Do you still have no faith? -Mk 4:39

  17. A good leader will address the peoples concern, but also address the deeper concern.

  18. What does Jesus want in this storm?

  19. The Lord is the One who will go before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8

  20. Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. Psalm 55:22

  21. Just one thing: Live your life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ....standing firm in one spirit, with one mind, working side by side for the faith that comes from the gospel, not being frightened in any way by your opponents. This is a sign of destruction for them, but of your deliverance and this is from God. Philippians 1:27-28

  22. Sermon in a Sentence A true leader washes the feet of every sheep, cares for their concerns, and is watchful to address the deeper concern.
