A mere fifty-seven words in the original Greek of Matthew's gospel, it manages to gather up all of life and brings it before God.

  10. 2. On Earth as it is in Heaven Heaven - The Father, the Son, and the Spirit exist Heaven - suffering, dying, and pain cease to exist Heaven - God is bringing to our world Heaven - not here yet, because of God s love and mercy for those who still have to come into the world that we know.

On Earth as it is in Heaven Heaven our hope and our not yet praying on earth as it is in heaven roots the Thy will be done in that hope This is how you should pray invitation to the heavenly conversation The more we pray Thy will be done, the better we understand what God s will is The better we are able to pray

(Gen 1:28) The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord s favor. (Luke 4:18-19)

Thy Will be Done not as I will, but as you will (Matt 26:39, NIV) I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. (Jn 17:20- 21, NIV) bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ (Eph 1:10)

Thy Will be Done God s will is Vast; Big The will of God is connected to everything that has happened, everything that is happening, and that will happen in the whole of human history and throughout the cosmos. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts [higher] than your thoughts. (Isa 55:9, NIV)

  17. 3. Thy Will be Done [On earth as it is in heaven] captures the passion of the living God to bring the reality of heaven on earth. It is one of the reasons [God in Jesus] became one of us. In heaven right now the Father's name is being hallowed, his kingdom is being actualized, and his will is being done. "O Father, make it so on earth!" That is what Jesus is teaching us to pray. "O Father bring heaven down on earth right here!" To pray the Lord's prayer is to participate in heaven's invasion of the earth. (Darrell Johnson, 57 Words that Changed the World)

Lets Pray Invitation to accept the invitation into the intimate relationship of the Father, Son and Spirit Invitation to pray the Lord s Prayer everyday this week Pause after saying our Father in heaven Reflect on the invitation into the relationship of the Father and Son through the power of the Holy Spirit Set your posture for prayer Pause after praying hallowed be thy name Reflect that you are invited into the deepest passion of the Father and Son

Lets Pray Pause after saying thy kingdom come Reflect God s coming Kingdom in Jesus Christ and what it means for the world Pause after praying thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven Reflect on heaven breaking into the world, and God s work of healing, repair, and deliverance from suffering.

Lets Pray Our Father in heaven pause to reflect on the invitation Hallowed be your name pause to reflect on his character Your kingdom come pause to reflect on the kingdom of God both coming and present now in Jesus Christ Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven pause to reflect on God s will restoring our world Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever, AMEN
