Culture shock refers to the anxiety and feelings (of surprise, disorientation, uncertainty, confusion, etc.) felt when people have to operate within a different and unknown culture such as one may encounter in a foreign country *CULTURE SHOCK 1 HSS 310 9/10/2024
1. Honeymoon Phase: Euphoria, enthusiasm,, in love with new culture 2. Withdrawal: Hostile, frustrated, annoyed, feeling isolated, idealising home, hate the alien , contempt 3. Acceptance: Accept the reality, equilibrium, independence, new ventures and relationship 4. Adaptation: Acculturation,follow the new culture, normal 5.
