Children of Substance Using Parents- COSUP pathway
What does COSUP mean?
How can COSUP children be identified within schools? (behaviours you may observe etc) Behavioral disturbance, antisocial behavior (conduct disorder) Attachment difficulties Mood disturbance- anxiety Truancy and poor school achievement Social isolation Precocious maturity Difficult transitions from childhood to adolescence Anxiety or depression Attempts to escape from home- missing episodes Relationship difficulties (friendships included) Young person is using substances themselves Withdrawal from usual after school activities- this may be because they have no way of getting to/from the activities due to parents being drunk or high on substances

How can schools talk to COSUP & their parents/guardians about your service? (to gain consent)
