Personal Development Coping with Changes in Feelings and Relationships
Instructions Please work through this PowerPoint in your own time. It will be updated weekly and new sections will be added as we go along. There will be hyperlinks inserted to make it easier for you to find your way around (YOU JUST NEED TO CLICK WHERE AND WHEN INDICATED!!). If you have access to the Pixar Movie Inside Out it would be useful but don t worry if you haven t. The clips we will be using will be in this PowerPoint. Don t worry about being led away from any of the topic areas. All discussion around emotions is useful. E.g. If you are talking about happiness and end up talking about how that happiness changed to sadness in a certain situation, please continue the conversation. There will only be a very limited need for students to record any evidence. However I will need confirmation from Parents or Carers to say that the tasks set have been completed. This will enable me to put students forward for an AQA Unit Award called Coping with Changes in Feelings and Relationships
Objectives Students will be able to: Recognise and communicate about how their feelings change during the day to a particular person Recognise and communicate about their feelings towards other people Identify reasons why feelings change towards specific people Identify ways to cope with feelings Understand that finding it hard to cope with different emotions is part of growing up Plan to cope in a specific way with specific feelings Seek help when they are worried about how they are feeling Show an understanding of how adolescence affects own feelings
Pre-Topic Revision What have we covered before? We have looked at Emotions twice this year: You created your own Communication Books as part of Literacy. These focused on emotions and we even did an A to Z of emotions. We also used the movie Inside Out to look at emotions and how the 5 emotions in the film can affect us. We discussed: Emotions can be positive or negative. Some emotions are more difficult to deal with than others. It is ok to have different feelings to other people.
