  1. Negative sentence Affirmative sentence None but he can do the work. He is not a dishonest man. There is no mother but loves her child. We cannot but die. Only he can do the work. He is an honest man. Every mother loves her child. We die . The sentence / statement affirms / asserts / confirms something is called Affirmative sentence. The sentence denies / disagrees /contradicts something is called Negative sentence.

  2. Structure of Affirmative Sentence Only + Noun (person). Only the brave deserve the fair. None but the brave deserve the fair. Structure of Negative Sentence None but + Noun (person).

  3. Structure of Affirmative Sentence Only + Noun (thing) I have only a pen. I have nothing but a pen. Structure of Negative Sentence Nothing but + Noun (thing)

  4. Structure of Affirmative Sentence Only + Noun (Number). He is only ten. He is not more / less than ten. Structure of Negative Sentence Not more/ less + than+ Noun (Number)
