Tuvalu Coastal Fisheries 2018 National Priorities The Guiding vision of the Department: Bountiful inshore fisheries supporting livelihoods and providing local food Sustainable oceanic fisheries providing strong revenue and satisfying jobs The Department s Mission: To maximize social and economic returns to the people of Tuvalu through the sustainable management and wise use of Tuvalu s living marine resources.

Tuvalu Coastal Fisheries 2018 Current Activities Outer Island Management: Work in close collaboration with outer island communities in coastal fisheries related issues: Coordinate Outer island Metronome Trips Outer Island Data collection Program with CREEL SURVEY Formulate Fisheries management plans for each Islands Public awareness programs through Schools and Fishermen Associations Assist in any Fisheries related activities on each Outer Island Metronome trips Activities 2018 Type Executed 3 Metronome Trips Management Plans, collate info for island profiles, CFP monitoring and boat and canoe survey, creel, LMMA & FADS All islands Outer Island DC Data entering and data analysis All islands 5 Outer Island visits Quarterly monitoring All islands
