This module will look at the
different types of scrapers used in the cutter head, According to different
geological condition design the different shape and choose the most suitable tungsten carbides, in order
to make sure the cutters can deal with various working conditions, no matter the silty sand or the sandy
gravel, our mission is to reduce the replacing frequency and improve work efficiency.
The hardness after heat treatment is HRC 40±3，it has a pretty high wear
resistance and toughness

Centre scraper-1:-
1.
This type of scraper mostly used for soft ground geology
2.
Scraper up to 15 mpa rock can be cut. Also, we call ripper this
type of scrapper
3.
Scraper front side installed tungsten carbide bit.
4.
This scraper can be mounted at single and double cutter
housing with high - grade bolts In the cutter head structure
Centre scraper-2:-
1.
Mostly they are using this type of scraper micro-
tunnelling
2.
This type of scraper used only soft soil ground (silty,
sand)
3.
For wearing purpose Scraper front side welded with
hard facing welding.
4.
Scraper welded in the cutter head centre position
Different Types Of Scrapers
Face scraper-1:
1.
This type of scraper up to 15Mpa rock can be cut.
2.
Scraper front side installed tungsten carbide bit.
3.
This scraper mounted with higher strength multiple bolts in the
cutter head structure.
4.
The bolts (Allen key) strength is 12.9 grade.
Face scraper or cutting Knife-2:
1.
This type of scraper up to 10Mpa rock can be cut.
2.
Scraper front side installed tungsten carbide bit.
3.
This scraper mounted with single higher strength bolts in the cutter
head structure
4.
Bolt’s strength is 12.9 grade.
Different Types Of Scrapers
Bucket scraper:
1.
This Bucket type of scraper up to 15Mpa rock can
be cut.
2.
These type of scrapers are positioned on the very
far edge of the TBM cutter head, this ensures that
the rotating cutter-head cuts material to circa
35mm larger than the TBM main body. This is to
prevent the TBM becoming stuck and assists with
steering of the TBM
3.
This type of scraper used all types of TBM (EPB,
Slurry, Hard rock)
4.
Scraper front side installed tungsten carbide bit.
5.
This scraper mounted with Hexagonal bolts in the
cutter head structure
6.
The bolt’s strength is 10.9 grade.
