BIA: TPA-Road Maintenance (cont.) The BIA has maintenance responsibility for 29,330 miles owned roads and 1,073 bridges 1,073 bridges. 29,330 miles of BIA- The road mileage consists of approximately 7,400 miles of paved, 7,400 miles of paved, 4,800 miles of gravel, and 4,800 miles of gravel, and 16,900 miles of unimproved and earth surface roads. 16,900 miles of unimproved and earth surface roads.
