Who was William Shakespeare ? He was one of the greatest writers in the English language and the world's greatest dramatist. Shakespeare wrote at least 37 plays, including Romeo and Juliet. He is best known for his tragedies Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth. One of the most popular tragedy for sure is Romeo and Juliet which is written in his early career. His tragedies are preformed all over the word.
Synopsis of the tragic love story The play, set in Verona begins with a street brawl between Montague and Capulet servants and reader can figure out that these two families are sworn enemies for decades. Juliet s parents are preparing a ball and want their daughter to marry Paris. Romeo sneaks into the ball and meets Juliet and they fall in love. They decided to get married as soon as possible.
Synopsis of the tragic love story Romeo and Juliet get married secretly with a help of Friar Lawrence, Romeo s friend. Their happiness was destroyed when Romeo kills Tybalt, Juliet s cousin, after Tybalt kills his friend Mercutio. The Prince announces that Romeo must leave Verona. Before leaving the city, Romeo visits his loved Juliet ( the famous balcony scene) .

Synopsis of the tragic love story Friar Lawrence gives a drug to Juliet and she falls asleep, while everybody thinks she dies. The two of them sent a message to Romeo that she is alive, but the messenger didn t arrive on time, so Romeo kills himself with a poison nearby Juliet s lying body. When Juliet wakes up, she sees him dead, and she kills herself, too. After this scene the two of families agree to stop fighting and live in peace.
Interesting facts about Romeo and Juliet nowadays In April and May 2010, the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Mudlark Production Company presented a version of the play, entitled Such Tweet Sorrow, as an improvised, real-time series of tweets on Twitter. The performers also make use of other media sites such as YouTube for pictures and video.
