Nasreddin Hoca was born in 1208 in the village of Hortu near Sivrihisar (near Afyon) in the west of Central Anatolia. He died in Ak ehir in 1284.
Nasreddin Hodja is essentially a legendary folk philosopher, and his folks reflect his own worldview and a constructive body that gives opposing reactions to all kinds of extremism.
