The Remarkable Career of Rick Roast - A Nuclear Science Journey
Rick Roast, a prominent figure in nuclear data, has made significant contributions in the field through initiatives like Isotope Explorer and EGAF. Even after retirement, he continues to lead important projects in nuclear research. His work bridges the gap between nuclear structure and reactions, reflecting an insatiable curiosity and dedication to science. Through it all, Rick has emphasized the importance of a well-balanced life alongside a successful career in nuclear data.

A career for the ages Rick was one of the first names that many students of a certain age saw of nuclear structure data The educational value of these print editions is tremendous R. B. Firestone Lee Bernstein NSDD 2017 2 2
But Ricks career in nuclear data has encompassed much more We continue to get multiple requests for Isotope Explorer to be brought back on line. Rick realized early on that (n, ) data was of special importance for both basic and applied science and responded with the creation of EGAF Lee Bernstein NSDD 2017 3 3
Since retirement (ha ha!) Rick continues to lead the effort to incorporate quasi-continuum data into ENSDF 4 (n, ) papers on 15 nuclei in 2016-2017 014328 (2017) 16,17,18O and 2H: R.B. Our recent compilation of the Baghdad Atlas was a logical continuation of the work Rick started with EGAF Rick has always worked to bridge the gap between structure and reactions nuclear data Lee Bernstein NSDD 2017 5 5
A hallmark of Ricks career has been an insatiable curiosity for a wide range of science Plus much, much more (supernovae, neutron activation analysis and source design .) Lee Bernstein NSDD 2017 6 6
Throughout all of this Rick and Mary have raised a family and traveled the world Proof that you can have it all One s work in nuclear data doesn t need to come at the expense of a well-balanced & happy life Lee Bernstein NSDD 2017 7 7
Thank you and Congratulations Rick!!! and stay away from the snakes please Lee Bernstein NSDD 2017 8 8
