Significance
of the
Hadeeth

It is a concise statement by the
Messenger
;
It consists of few words but wide
meaning.
It indicates the protection of man from
every kind of harm, whether:
self-inflicted or caused by others
If it is done as reciprocation or not.
The Prophet
 forbade harm in
general.

Thinking
Time!

What is the significance of
‘neither’ and ‘nor’ in the hadeeth?
That it is impermissible to harm or
to reciprocate harm.

Why is the word ‘harm’ indefinite
in the hadeeth?
Because it includes all kinds of
harm.

Commitment
Commitment

Dealings amongst people could result in harm, mostly
unintentional.
There would be a party that caused the harm and a
party that sustained it.
Example:
 road accidents.
Police determine the party to blame and the
one liable for the cost of the damage, this
important task is carried out by the UAE
courts.
Damage then needs to be removed & rectified, but not
through causing another damage as a revenge,
So that ill feelings do not overtake the values of
tolerance and compassion amongst society
members.
Therefore the law should be referred to for assessing &
removing the damage.
