The Plastic Oceans By Emily Whooley and Caoimhe Canty.
Sources Of Microplastic Pieces of plastic smaller than 5mm in size are called microplastic. Sources for this include cosmetic products or rubbish washed from land and some ships.
Facts People believe that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Marine animals and sea birds die each year from being tangled in or digesting plastic.
The Damage Over 75% of fish have consumed plastic in their lifetime. It cause plastic mountains on beaches. Fish are getting trapped in nets and fishing gear that get lost or thrown away.
How Can We Help? Use reusable bottles instead of using plastic one s. Do a two minute beach clean every time you go to the beach. Don't dump your waste in the ocean. Don t flush your waste down the toilet.
Sources Of Marine Litter Waste dropped in town and cities. Over flowing rubbish bins. Litter dropped at the beach. Lost shipping containers. And lost fishing gear.
