  3. TITLE THE TITLE OF THE STORY REFERS TO THE MAIN CHARACTER THAT WE WILL COME ACROSS A LITTLE GIRL, KEZIA.

  4. Theme The theme of the story is the relationship between children and parents and the writer wants to tell us that children share a very important bond of love with their parents. Although when children are small, when they are young they do not feel that their parents love them because their parents are strict and many actions of the parents seems unjustified. But as children grow up they realise that all the acts done by their parents were beneficial for them.

  5. Kezia is a little girl. She feared her father and thought that her father was like a giant. She always avoided him and always think that he was cruel. She couldn t even speak in front of him and always stuttered. She felt very happy when her father would go to office.

  6. In the evening, her father came and always asked her mother if she had been a good girl all day. Kezia thought her father was a hard-hearted person. Her grandmother always encouraged her to talk freely to her father. One day her grandmother suggested to make a birthday gift for her father and Kezia agrees.

  7. Then Kezia decided to make a pin cushion for her father and for that she needed papers to stuff the cushion. She found some papers in her father s room and she tore the sheets to stuff the cushion. Her father had written an important speech on them. When he got to know about this he got very angry. He took a stick and beat on her small palms to teach her to not touch anyone s belongings without any permission.

  8. Kezia wept bitterly. She wondered why God had made fathers. Now she feared her father more. One day, kezia saw her neighbour, Mr. Macdonald. He was playing with his children. They all looke very happy But kezia s father never played with her. Now she thought there were different kind of fathers in the world.

  9. After a few days, kezias mother fell ill. Her grandmother took her to hospital. Kezia was alone in the house with her maid. She had to sleep alone in her bedroom. At night, she had a horrible dream that there was a person with a knife. She was terrified. She cried loudly. Her father came into her room. He lifted her and took her to his own bed. She lay beside her father.

  10. He was tired and fell asleep. She was lost in thoughts. She thought that her father had to work very hard every day. He came in the evening. Then he was too tired to play with her. She thought that it was her fault to tear those papers. She realized that her father was not bad. She could hear her father s heart beating. He had a big and loving heart.
