THE MSF WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment at MSF is often changing, uncertain, unstable Sometimes you can "know how to do" but not "be able to do" because of this environment The new Bilan takes this into account
PHILOSOPHY OF THE BILAN In the new Bilan you will be asked to what may have made your work easier and what prevented you from feeling at ease. The employee is at the center of the new Bilan and the manager supports them. No more evaluations, now it's time for professional development
THE STEPS OF THE BILAN CYCLE 3 BILAN DISCUSSION 1 PERIOD PREPARATION BILAN CYCLE 1 cycle = 1 year or 1 assignment 2 ONE-ON-ONE MEETINGS
STEP 1: PERIOD PREPARATION My successes, my areas for improvement + SUMMARY My support expectations = SUPPORT A good foundation to begin work
STEP 2: ONE-ON-ONE MEETINGS At least every 3 months (more if needed and possible), I discuss with my manager: What has worked: THANKS to WHAT What has not worked so well : BECAUSE of WHAT REFLECTION + How was the support received and future support need = SUPPORT Adjustments and improvements as we go along
STEP 3: THE BILAN DISCUSSION I analyze how my work went during the cycle REFLECTION + I make a summary of what went well and what I would like to do differently in the future SUMMARY = Action plan for professional development

INTRODUCTION TO THE VIDEO You will listen to Samuel, a driver, and Ismael , his supervisor, during the first step of the cycle: period preparation
VIDEO 1 - INSTRUCTIONS Watch the video (3 min) and then answer the following questions: - Which responsibility(ies) does the employee find easiest to carry out? - Which responsibility(ies) are the most difficult for the employee and what support do they need? - What is the reason for their initial reluctance to talk about their difficulties? Don t forget to appoint a spokesperson
VIDEO 1 - INSTRUCTIONS You have 10 minutes to answer the following questions as a group: - Which responsibility(ies) does the employee find easiest to carry out? - Which responsibility(ies) are the most difficult for the employee and what support do they need? - What is the reason for their initial reluctance to talk about their difficulties? Don t forget to appoint a spokesperson

Fear of showing these weaknesses, especially at the beginning of the contract

NOW IT IS UP TO YOU! Now that you have understood this first step, thanks to Ismael and Samuel, it is up to you to "prepare the period" for your own Bilan!

OBJECTIVE OF SEQUENCE 5 Identify the elements that may have an impact on the completion of activities at MSF
INSTRUCTION Different elements may have an impact on the completion of your activities In a group and within 20 min Sort the cards provided in 2 piles: - Elements related to the person s inner resources - Elements related to the environment
REFLEXIVITY Being able to act (environmental elements) Knowing how to act (the person s inner resources) Roles and responsibilities Knowledge (theoretical) Tools and processes Know-how (practical) Workload Emotional resources Team

INTRODUCTION TO THE VIDEO It s 3 months after the period preparation meeting. You are going to listen to Samuel and Ismael, during the second step of the cycle, the one-on-one meeting.
VIDEO 2 - INSTRUCTIONS Watch the video (3 min) and then answer the following questions: - Which responsibilities did the employee find easiest to carry out and what helped them? - Which responsibilities were most difficult for the employee and what contributed to those difficulties? - According to the employee, what support would they need and what improvements would they consider implementing?

REFLECTION Based on your previous analysis (in Sequence 4), determine individually: - What made certain responsibilities difficult for you (5 min) - What support you could ask for and what action(s) you think should be considered to help you with those difficulties (5 min)

INSTRUCTIONS You are divided into 4 groups, each group appoints a spokesperson We are going to ask you 4 successive questions Discuss together for 2 min to choose the answer (2 possible answers) On the facilitator's signal after the 2 minutes are up, the spokesperson from each group gives the answer using the corresponding colored card
