Aboriginal communities and organizations have chosen to incorporate these 7 teachings into their learnings, family lives, communities, traditions and ceremonies.

He is the closest thing to the Creator. He has the sight to see all ways of being. This teaching can be found in the core of all teachings, that s why a feather from him is of the highest honour. "The energy that heals all things is Love. To know Love is to know peace. To extend Love is to create peace."

  4. SABE - HONESTY - "NBWAAKAAWIN" The teaching of "Honesty" is held by the Sabe (Sasquatch/Yeti). Sabe knows.. Who they are. How to walk their life. Teaches us.. To be ourselves. Use given gifts to benefit not just ourselves but others as well. "To carry Honesty is to recognize Equality. There is none lesser or greater. To treat all your brother or your sister is to carry Honesty."

  5. TURTLE - TRUTH - "DEBWEWIN" The teaching of "Truth" is held by the Turtle. He was here during the creation of Earth. He carries the teaching atop his back. He takes life slow because he understands the journey and destination. "To know all of these things is to know theTruth."

  6. BUFFALO - RESPECT - "MNAADENDIMOWIN" The teaching of "Respect" is held by the Buffalo. He keeps every part of his being to keep the ways humans have of living He respects the balance. Buffalo teaches us... Treat others the way you want to be treated. Share what you have to offer. Give away what you don't need. "Humility in action is Respect. To honour all of Creation is to have Respect."

  7. BEAR - COURAGE - "AAKWAODEEWIN" The teaching of "Courage" is held by the Bear. Bear gives us... The power to understand and search for resolutions within spiritual intervention. Spiritual healing to get through Angry Pain Ourselves "Courage is the foundation of faith. To face a foe with integrity is to have Courage."

  8. BEAVER - WISDOM - "NBWAAKAAWIN" The teaching of "Wisdom" is held by the Beaver. Beaver uses natural gifts wisely for survival. Beaver modifies his environment in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way to benefit his family. Beaver teaches us: To learn and live through our own wisdom. Consider your limitations and of those around you. Observe the life around you. Acknowledge your differences and of those around you in a respectful way. "Every earnest search arrives here. To cherish knowledge is to know Wisdom."

  9. WOLF - HUMILITY - "DBAADENDIZIWIN" The teaching of "Humility" is held by the Wolf. His life is in his pack, and the biggest shame is being an outcast. Live life selflessly Respect your place "Humility is the foundation of everything. To know yourself as a sacred part of Creation is to know Humility."

  10. PRINCIPLE OF LEARNING The 7 Grandfather Teachings connect to this principle of learnings are... "Learning recognizes the role of indigenous knowledge.", It connects to this principle because we are learning about the 7 Grandfather Teachings, which is indigenous knowledge. It's what some Aboriginal peoples follow and live by in their day-to-day life. "Learning is embedded in memory, history and story.", It connects to this principle because through the memories, history and stories that have been passed down from generation to generation, today's generation can learn how to apply the 7 Grandfather Teachings to their daily basses in a modern way but yet including teachings from the past.

  11. CONNECTION TO PLACE AND THEME "Place is experiential.", experiences and outcomes of using one of these seven Grandfather Teachings can differ from person to person. Experimenting with the 7 Grandfather Teachings can be beneficial for you, so that you can see which teachings you can use to the best of your ability to live the best interest and ourselves. "The nature of learning and connection to story.", each teachings are connected to an animal or creature that occupies a certain area of land which have their own unique background stories connected with how the animal or creature applies their teachings.
