  2. BASD North Stars All students can and want to learn, and they deserve to use grade level skills to do grade level work. 2. Teachers matter more to student achievement more than any other aspect of schooling. 3. BASD produces the future Bethlehem Community 1.

  3. Special Educators are guided by the North Stars! Grade Level Skills Teachers Matter BASD Community All students deserve the exposure and engagement to grade-level content and skills. All teachers matter, and special educators are instructional experts in filling learning gaps. There are no special education restaurants, jobs or stores.

  4. How Special Education Students Meet Goals Core Instruction ALL students deserve core instruction with typical peers. Intervention Goals Student Goal driven instruction. Progress Monitoring PM can be Acadience/IXL but it is dictated by goals.

  5. What happens during Special Education (Intervention) Time? Addressing Skill Gaps and Deficits Pre-teaching Brief/intermittent intervention to provide security and support for The majority of Special Education time. Core. Reinforcement Brief/intermittent opportunities for Progress Monitoring Brief progress checks. practice.

  6. So how has our change impacted our data?

Freedom High School - Second Semester a Success Story Reading 15 of 86 students are now on level reading Reading 41 of 86 students grew a grade level Reading 30 of 86 students grew their Oral Reading Fluency (ORF)on average 30 wpm Math Math Math Average of 106 points of growth in second semester for tutored students 42 of 72 students grew over 1.5 grade levels 7 students grew over 2 grade levels!
