SKITTLES MARKETING MIX PROJECT. PROJECT BY:
My chosen product is: SKITTLES! MY MARKETING MIX PROJECT
PRODUCT The colors that SKITTLES are available in are red, orange, yellow, green and purple. Present target market for SKITTLES are young children. SKITTLES attract younger children with its bright colored chew candies and comedic adds. The USP (unique selling point) for SKITTLES is that it is the only fruity flavored candy with a spicy kick and that it also comes in so many different flavors.
PRODUCT The main competitor for SKITTLES is M&M s. The colorful, button shaped chocolate treats which are also coincidentally produced by MarsInc. These two small snacks are very similar except for the filling inside the crunchy shell.
PRICE Tesco= 2 Supervalu= 2.19 BritishCornerShop= 3.41 The average price for SKITTLES in those 3 shops is 2.45. Sour patch kids are very much a like to Sour SKITTLES and are sold at 2.59.
PLACE SKITTLES are available in pretty much every store which includes Tesco, Supervalu, Aldi, Planet Candy, Dealz, Spar, Iceland and many other stores.
PLACE You can also buy the chewy sweets online too! They are available on Amazon, PlanetCandy, Sweetco, shop.Supervalu, Flipkart, Tesco online shopping and so many more places!
PROMOTION MarsInc promote their product, in this case SKITTLES, by creating funny, colorful and creative adds. They mostly place adds on TV commercials and youtube adds. They mostly place these adds on TV channels like NICKELODEON, Disney Channel etc.
While creating this project I learned that The company that owns the product SKITTLES is MarsInc which was really interesting to find out. REFLECTION I also discovered more features that I can use on powerpoint which in my opinion made my project better. I learned that SKITTLES are the number one non-chocolate sweets in the US. The name of this sweet comes from a game called skittles! I learned that SKITTLES were originally called GLEES when they were first manufactured in the 1960s.
