A non-profit organization in the Taunton Community providing vocational, residential, and social programs for individuals with disabilities in Southeast Massachusetts. PRIDE's Employment Department offers a range of services to assist individuals with disabilities in developing work skills and entering the workforce, including Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) funded by the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission. The Pre-ETS curriculum focuses on job exploration, work readiness, work-based learning, and counseling on post-secondary education. Eligible students aged 14-21 enrolled in high school or post-secondary education can benefit from these services, including job exploration, workplace readiness training, work-based learning experiences, counseling on post-secondary education, and self-advocacy and peer mentoring. The referral process involves completing the MRC Referral & Consent Form and having a Transition Specialist/School Liaison submit it to PRIDE for service planning and submission to MRC.

  2. WHO ARE WE? A non-profit organization in the Taunton Community providing quality vocational, alternative residential, and social programs for individuals with vary disabilities within Southeast Massachusetts since 1969. Our programs and services work towards improving the quality of life for individuals with all abilities and their families. PRIDE S EMPLOYMENT DEPARTMENT PRIDE s Employment Department provides a variety of services to individuals with disabilities in order to assist them in developing the necessary work skills to enter the workforce and maintain employment. Services include PRE-ETS, job placement and development, ongoing job supports, School to Work Program, Skills Training, and much more.

  3. PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRANSITION SERVICES PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRANSITION SERVICES Pre-ETS are funded by the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission. Pre-ETS are offered to students aged 14-22 with various disabilities who are enrolled in high school or post-secondary education training/certification programs and have a goal of entering the workforce. The Pre-ETS curriculum is geared towards assisting students in becoming more aware and prepared for the world of work. PRIDE s Pre-ETS curriculum focuses on job exploration, work readiness, work-based learning, and counseling on post-secondary education. Pre-ETS services are delivered across three tiers. This approach ensures services meet the students needs and abilities. Tier 1 Awareness Tier 2 Exploration Tier 3 - Preparation

  4. PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRANSITION SERVICES CURRICULUM Job Exploration Counseling Seminars or workshops on careers and required skills, career ladders and interest inventory. Workplace Readiness Training Development of transferable work skills which may include resume writing, interview skills, and professionalism. Work-based Learning Experiences - Opportunities to job shadow, complete informational interviews, volunteer opportunities, and internships. Counseling on Post-Secondary Education or Training Counseling and guidance about options upon exiting high school which may include academic or vocational programs. Self-Advocacy and Peer Mentoring Peer mentoring, development of individual advocacy skills, and rights and responsibilities.

  5. WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR PRE-ETS? * Students aged 14-21 (until turning 22) * Must be enrolled in high school or post-secondary education/training * Must have a documented disability

  6. REFERRAL PROCESS 1. Have student/ guardian complete the MRC Referral & Consent Form 2. Forward completed form to Transition Specialist/School Liaison 3. Transition Specialist/School Liaison will send student s referral form & disability documentation (IEP, 504 Plan, etc.) to Tayla Nogueira 4. Pride will create a service plan for the student and submit the referral to MRC for approval. Once the service plan is submitted approval usually takes 5-7 days. 5. PRIDE will work with Transition Specialist/School Liaison in placing the student in a group with other students with similar abilities & needs. 6. PRIDE will work with the School staff to determine a start date and create a plan for service delivery best fits into the students schedules.

  7. DELIVERY OF SERVICES * Students that have been referred for services will be grouped together based on similar abilities and needs. Services can also be provided individually if needed. * Groups will be less than 8 * Services will be delivered remotely * Services will be provided for about 6-8 weeks * Services will occur once or twice a week and sessions will be 45 minutes 1 hour
